Possibility of Project - Literacy
My Project is Teaching English to the illiterate and underprivileged people of the community. To help them learn to Read, Write and Speak English. I was touched by the helpless life they lead. They cannot communicate with the majority of the community. They are unable to expand their interaction in society. In the same way they are not aware of what is happening outside their community. This limits them from having a fulfilling life, no progress, low standards of living, unaware of opportunities to grow in life. All this leading to a dull, unhealthy and unsatisfactory life.
If no action is taken, they will have a stagnant life without a hopeful future, no freedom to express themselves. They will only be surviving in life.
With the possibility of Literacy they will be able to express themselves, communication will be possible, will have confidence, self respect, aware of the advantages of education, can teach their children and grand children, make their lives better, can acquire knowledge from various sources and lead a healthy and happy life.
We who are helping them gain in their life will have immense satisfaction of doing good work to the community spreading of goodwill in the minds of the fortunates towards the less fortunates.
8. Project Summary
"Each one Teach one" is inspiration for all. If every literate person helps an illiterate person to learn, in a very short time literacy throughout the planet can be attained.
We have circulated pamphlets in our neighbourhood in Shanthinagar making them aware of the power of the "Each one Teach one" program. Teaching is also taking place at Yelahanka and Marathahalli.
9. Achievements
The "Each one Teach one" campaign has taken off and more and more people are knowing about it and more people are being taught.
10. The Future
I am foreseeing a future where all are equal, equal opportunities for all , all are literate and enjoy self expression.
We will expand the "Each one Teach one" program through EMails to the entire planet.
